"Thank you very much for emailing me back. The information you gave me was very helpful. Thank you for setting me straight about the water changes. I haven't ever had a problem in two years with the water becoming toxic. However, now that I know it could be at this point or will become toxic I will be more careful. Thank you also for the information about the platies. Especially thank you for your time!!"

"We just recently started a new aquarium, and I found your page to be an excellent source for information on painted fish. Now I know exactly what species to avoid. Thank you for the time and trouble it took for you to create this site."

"I wish I had read your information about painted glass fish
before I went shopping for fish at Petsmart in Murietta, California.
It has been a long time since I have kept tropical fish, and I had had glass fish before. I thought they had somehow bred them for these colors. I never imagined that they would have been dyed. I bought a pair.
The one fish died just a little more than two weeks after I got it... I will never, ever, buy any painted fish again."

"Let me just say firstly this web site is brilliant and this site was of more help to me than some of the links from big search engines!

"I just wanted to say "thank you" for including a section about the cruelty of keeping painted fish
. I never knew of such a thing until one summer when I was working at PetCo (college summer job) in the fish room. I didn't know much about fish then, I was just starting out, I loved the colors on the painted glass fish, but then a customer told me that it doesn't happen naturally, (which I figured, but didn't want to believe). I had no idea that is how they do it though. Plus, I thought the only species that was done to was glass fish, I had no idea that there were so many more species."
