Blood Parrot Cichlids can be very interesting fish, but even more than a decade after their introduction to the pet trade there is still controversy surrounding these fish. And that's available even for specimens that, like this one, have not been injected with dye! Since these fish are deformed, they can have trouble competing for food or avoiding aggressors, and with their own aggressive nature, finding suitable tank mates can often be a challenge.

"Thanks fort the wonderful site, it gives me some clarity with how things should be done and comfort that even a fish murderer like me can see the light. Tough lessons on life and death for a 7 year old, but we will get through this, do it properly, and have happy and healthy fish soon (I hope)! "
